Other Forms of Recognition
IEEE | IEEE-USA | Non-IEEE
The IEEE-USA Awards and Recognition Committee, in
addition to the IEEE awards and criteria previously described, and with the concurrence of
the IEEE-USA Board of Directors, will recognize the following individuals for their
service to professional activities:
- Members of the IEEE-USA Board of Directors will be
honored with a plaque or certificate recognizing their contributions and service to
professionalism, at the conclusion of their terms of office.
- IEEE-USA Task Force Leaders and Committee Chairs
will be honored with a certificate in recognition of their service to professional
activities on an annual basis.
- President's Special Award: Each
year, the out-going IEEE-USA President is presented a silver tray, a plaque with the
engraved signatures of the members of IEEE-USA Board, or similar recognition of service to
IEEE-USA.
- The IEEE-USA Awards and Recognition Committee, with
the approval of the IEEE-USA Board of Directors, may recommend candidates and cause
nominations to be prepared and supported for the IEEE Haraden Pratt Award (for outstanding
service to the Institute), and/or the IEEE Founders Medal (for service of great value to
the profession).
- The IEEE-USA Awards and Recognition Committee, with
the approval of the IEEE-USA Board of Directors, may recommend candidates and cause
nominations to be prepared and supported for consideration by the IEEE Fellows Committee
for election to Fellow grade of IEEE membership. (This activity is independent of Awards
Board activities.)
Non-IEEE Awards and Recognitions
IEEE-USA's Awards and Recognition Committee may
also recognize individuals for their service to the profession by recommending and/or
promoting their consideration for other important Awards and Recognitions, including:
The IEEE Awards Board delegated to the IEEE-USA
Awards and Recognition Committee the generation and coordination of the nomination of IEEE
members for the several awards given by the American Association of Engineering Societies.
