Stelluto IEEE-USA Publications Take Two Awards Honors WASHINGTON (06 June 2003) — IEEE-USA received an Award of Distinction from The Communicator Awards for its IEEE-USA Year in Pictures spread in the December 2002 issue of IEEE Spectrum magazine; and an Honorable Mention for its July 2002 issue of IEEE-USA News & Views, both in the print media category. The Communicator Awards is an international competition recognizing outstanding work in the communications field. Industry professionals judge the entries, looking for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence, and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. Entries in the 2003 Print Media Competition numbered 3,730 from throughout the United States and several foreign countries. The Communicator bestows the Award of Distinction for projects that exceed industry standards in communicating a message or idea, with approximately 709 entries (19 percent) winning this award. Only 10 percent (373 entries) won an Honorable Mention in this category, given for entries that meet the high standards of the communications industry. The Communicator Awards winners come from advertising and public relations firms, corporate communications departments, educational institutions, government entities, designers, writers, video production professionals, and broadcast and cable operations.
