| The Graduates
of the Last Decade (GOLD) program is working to help
young IEEE members bridge the transition of Student members to
Section members. GOLD's goals are increasing member retention,
creating networking forums for recent graduates, and developing
programs unique to GOLD group needs. GOLD is a great way to
network with engineers already in the workforce who can point you to
entry level openings. |

Foundation's Career Cornerstone Center
is a resource center for those pursuing careers in engineering,
mathematics, information technology, and the physical sciences. |
| Don't overlook
Joseph E. Schmalhofer's Entry
Level Job Seeker Assistant. There is some duplication with the College
Grad Job Hunter but some different stuff too, including both
job and resume links. |
| INROADS
is an internship program designed to help talented minority youth
pursue professional and managerial careers in engineering and telecommunications, as well as retailing, banking, accounting,
manufacturing and other fields. |

provides
tips on job hunting, cover letters, resumes, and interviewing for
the college grad, plus much more. |
| The EE/CS
Mother Site at Stanford University has an outstanding list of
company, university, and related links for electrical engineering
and computer science students. |
| Students seeking
graduate assistantships in the computer field can sneak a peek at
the postings in the Association for Computing Machinery's Graduate
Assistantship Directory (current under

| The ACM also has a

Programs.Com is a search engine for internship candidates
and employers. |
| The NSF-sponsored Engineering
Research Centers (ERCs) are industrially oriented,
cross-disciplinary research centers at major universities that are
focused on engineered systems. ERCs involve both graduate and
undergraduate students in innovative programs of research and
education, and offers a wide range of opportunities for hands-on
research and employment. |
| As you look ahead
in your career, consider Contract
Engineering and Consulting
as alternatives to full-time, long-term employment. Contract
engineers and consultants typically accept a greater degree of
financial insecurity in exchange for independence, flexibility, and
the challenge of frequently changing assignments. |
